The online portion of ECS’s fifth season has come to an end, with eight teams qualified for the LAN and four to play the Challenger Cups. May 12th marked the end of the ECS season in both Europe and North America, with eight teams, four from North America and four from Europe, qualifying for the LAN finals, which are set to take place on June 8-10 in Wembley. Out of the 20 teams, there is also a handful of them that will have to play the ECS Season 6 Challenger Cup to keep their slot in the league against contenders coming from an open qualifier to the league. In Europe, it will be Gambit and Envy, while in North America it will be OpTic and Complexity, the latter having dropped out of the league due to scheduling conflicts. The European teams qualified to the offline finals in London are Astralis, who only lost one map out of the 18 they played, followed by G2, fnatic, and FaZe, while in North America it was NRG spearheading the standings, followed by Cloud9. A three-way tie then saw Liquid and Luminosity make the cut over Renegades, while SK, the season 3 champions, ended behind. The full team list for the ECS Season 5 Finals is:
